I love when I get asked if we sell birthday cards because I get to answer with “No… BUT!” and then can suggest cards that do way more than just wish the general sentiment that your birthday is happy.
A birthday is a perfect excuse to take a moment to pause and reflect about that person, their life, what God is doing in them, why you’re grateful for them, and to pray for them.
Plus, it’s a birthday is a great reason to then encourage, strengthen, and honor that person in a special way by giving them an unexpected birthday card that communicates your love and affection, and deepens your relationship.
I’ve got FIVE ways to use a card to celebrate and honor a person on their birthday besides simply saying “happy birthday.”
- Acknowledge the growth and development you’ve seen God do in their lives in the last year.
- Affirm the way they're created and character traits that you admire.
- Cherish them with sincere words.
- Pray scripture over them and their upcoming year.
- Thank God for them and tell them why you’re grateful.
