YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS
This phrase gets thrown around and often is connected with an individual's own, personal will power and ability to pull themselves up and work hard.
But, is it actually encouraging to be told you can do hard things when the hard thing in front of you is really, really, difficult and you're not sure you can actually accomplish what's being asked of you?
One of the beautiful things about God is that while He gives us free will to function on our own and the ability to develop, grow and learn, he doesn't just absently leave us and expect we figure out life's troubles by ourselves.
Part of growing in knowing God more is knowing that he's the gift and prize and when we realize and prioritize that, his promises to be with us become the soul strengthening truth we need to be reminded of over and over.

These verses below are the scriptures backing up the "You Can Do Hard Thing" statement on one of our most popular cards.
Whether you give the card to a friend or just need the reminders for yourself, soak in all the truth, goodness, and grace from God that He has for you...
-
1 John 5:4: For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
-
Jeremiah 1:19: They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.
-
Hebrews 13:5-6: Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”
-
Psalm 23: The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
-
Matthew 6:31-33: So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
-
Psalm 118:6-7: The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph on my enemies.
-
Romans 8:32-39: He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies.
Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
As it is written:“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
-
Matthew 28:20: "...Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
- Psalm 73:26: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
-
Philippians 4:13: I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
-
Isaiah 41:10: So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
-
2 Corinthians 12:9: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
-
Joshua 1:9: Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
- Galatians 6:9: Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
-
2 Peter 1:3: His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
-
Hebrews 12:2-3: ... For the joy set before [Jesus] he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
-
Deuteronomy 31:6: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
- Psalm 16:9-11: Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
As I read through all of those verses, I just get more and more buzzed and excited with thankfulness and a hope that you'll take to heart these truths too and let them fuel you in whatever God has in front of you today.
